The process of certification of conformity of a range of manufactured (1), appliances is
Phase 1 : EC Type-examination - module B
Phase 2 : EC declaration of conformity to type – Module C2, Module D,
Module E or Module F
Phase 3 : Manufacturer affixes the CE mark on every appliance leaving
the factory and conform to the type.
Phase 1 : EC Type-examination
Module B
The following general procedure is applied:
A. New CE certification projects
- The manufacturer send an application form (TGF-08-01) to TECHNIGAS; - TECHNIGAS send a quotation and an order form concerning the CE
certification and laboratory tests to the manufacturer;
- The manufacturer send the signed order form back to TECHNIGAS;
- TECHNIGAS informs the testing laboratory;
- The laboratory schedules the tests and informs the manufacturer;
- The manufacturer provides a design documentation file to TECHNIGAS
and the laboratory;
- The manufacturer provides one or more appliance(s) as agreed in the
order form to the laboratory;
- The laboratory tests the appliance(s) and examines the design
documentation file;
- The laboratory send the test report and the design documentation file to
TECHNIGAS;
- TECHNIGAS examines the test report and the design documentation file
and evaluates if the appliance satisfies the essential requirements of the
applicable Regulation;
- TECHNIGAS makes an evaluation report according the essential
requirements of the applicable Regulation;
In case of non-conformities the manufacturer takes the necessary
corrective measures;
- The Certification Committee of TECHNIGAS makes a final evaluation
and issues a CE type-examination certificate.
B. Extensions of existing Technigas CE certificates
- The manufacturer send an application form (TGF-08-27) to TECHNIGAS.
- TECHNIGAS examines the application and decides if any tests have to
be performed :
* If not, TECHNIGAS treats this application as an administrative
extension.
* If yes, see A.
Phase 2 : EC declaration of conformity to type
Module C2 / D / E / F
The following general procedure is applied:
- The manufacturer send an application form (TGF-09-01) to TECHNIGAS indicating option module C2 or module D, Module E or Module F;
- Document (TGF-09-21) explains the choice between Module C2, Module D, Module E or Module F;
TECHNIGAS send a contract proposal to the manufacturer;
- The manufacturer send the signed contract proposal back to
TECHNIGAS;
- TECHNIGAS makes on-site checks on appliances at random at intervals
of one year or less (module C2) or TECHNIGAS examines and
evaluates at least once every two years the production or product
quality system to determine whether it satisfies the requirements
(module D or E);
- For Module F, TECHNIGAS performs a statistical on-site checks of a
batch;
- TECHNIGAS makes a inspection or audit report and evaluates if the
appliances satisfy or if the production or product quality satisfies the
prescriptions of the applicable Regulation;
- TECHNIGAS send the inspection or audit report and the evaluation
report to the manufacturer;
In case of non-conformities the manufacturer takes the necessary
corrective measures;
- TECHNIGAS checks and evaluates the applied corrective measures;
The manufacturer issues a declaration of conformity to type ;
If the manufacturer wants to withdrawal a CE type certificate from the
EC surveillance contract, cancellation document (TGF-09-27) can be used.
Phase 3 : Manufacturer affixes the CE mark on the appliances
(1) for single manufactured appliances the Gas Appliance Regulation (EU) 2016/426 offers module G being EC verification by unit.
The procedure is similar to module B and only differences are :
2) if necessary the tests may be carried out after installation of the
appliance,
3) the notified body must affix the CE mark on the appliance,
4) no conformity to type module
