On far-away markets, outside the EU, certification bodies might be interested in offering CE marking for their national manufacturers. Sometimes it is more convenient f.i. for transport reasons or lingual reasons to have appliances tested by a national certification body.

TECHNIGAS offers those certification bodies appropriate cooperation opportunities.

Certain conditions of course are to be fulfilled. The ‘Guide to the implementation of directives based on the New Approach and the Global Approach’ states that

• A notified body, TECHNIGAS in this case, can have part of its work carried out by another body on the basis of established and regularly monitored competence.
  
• The body subcontracted by the notified body must be technically competent and display independence and objectivity according to the same criteria and under the same conditions as the notified body.
  
• Subcontracting must be based on a contract, which makes it possible to ensure the transparency of and have confidence in the notified body‘s operations.
  
• A subcontracting notified body remains responsible for all the activities covered by the notification. Subcontracting does not entail the delegation of powers or responsibilities. Certificates are always issued in the name and under the responsibility of the notified body.
